We are hiring an experienced FPGA Engineer for placement with one of our reputed Singapore-based deep-tech technology clients. The client works on advanced technology solutions involving FPGA-based systems, electronics, high-speed digital platforms, and cutting-edge R&D.
The selected candidate will work closely with scientists, engineers, and technology specialists to design, develop, test, integrate, and document advanced hardware and FPGA-based solutions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Break down technical requirements, prepare work plans, and maintain technical documentation.
- Design, program, integrate, and test FPGA-based platforms.
- Develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Work on FPGA-based systems such as time-tagging platforms and other high-speed digital applications.
- Collaborate with domain and technology experts to implement state-of-the-art and cutting-edge R&D solutions.
- Design and implement electronics interfaces including I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and similar interfaces.
- Support the design, integration, testing, and validation of electronic and PCB-based systems.
- Consider high-speed signal requirements and related design considerations during PCB development and testing.
- Prepare user documentation, technical guides, and supporting materials for FPGA and hardware systems.
- Conduct testing, validation, troubleshooting, and quality-control activities.
- Present technical information effectively to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Assist in preparing technical, commercial, and research proposals with internal teams and external partners.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Perform other related technical responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; or
- Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong academic achievements and/or demonstrated passion for technology through extracurricular activities will be an advantage.
- Genuine curiosity and interest in working with emerging and deep technologies.
Required Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with FPGA hardware and software design.
- Strong working knowledge of VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Experience developing FPGA-based systems, including FPGA time taggers, is highly relevant.
- Experience implementing electronics interfaces such as:
- I2C
- SPI
- Ethernet
- Other hardware communication interfaces
- Experience in the design and testing of PCB boards.
- Understanding of high-speed signal considerations in hardware design.
- Strong technical documentation and quality-control practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot FPGA, electronics, and hardware-related technical issues.
Preferred / Advantageous Skills
