We are looking for a highly experienced Solution Architect – Telecom (BSS/OSS) to design and deliver scalable, high-performance solutions across complex telecom ecosystems. This role requires deep expertise in BSS/OSS and SDP/IN domains, strong architectural capabilities, and the ability to drive end-to-end solutioning for enterprise telecom platforms.
The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to CRM, Billing, middleware integration, and telecom gateway platforms, along with hands-on experience in microservices, cloud-native architecture, and modern integration patterns.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and drive end-to-end solution architecture across Telecom BSS/OSS systems aligned with business and IT strategy.
- Lead architecture design for BSS modules including CRM, Billing, Charging, Product Catalog, Order Management, and Revenue Management.
- Design and oversee OSS integration architecture covering Provisioning, Service Fulfillment, Inventory, and Network orchestration layers.
- Develop integration solutions using middleware platforms (APGW, Red Hat FUSE, or similar gateway/ESB technologies).
- Translate business requirements into scalable architecture designs (HLD, LLD).
- Conduct requirement analysis, gap analysis, and define transformation or migration scopes.
- Lead technical workshops, stakeholder discussions, and customer presentations.
- Support pre-sales activities, including RFP/RFI responses, solution proposals, effort estimation, and POCs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on microservices-based architectures and API-driven systems.
- Ensure seamless integration between BSS, OSS, SDP/IN, and third-party systems using APIs, ESB, and event-driven architectures.
- Provide architectural governance throughout delivery ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and integration challenges and provide mitigation strategies.
- Mentor technical teams and contribute to best practices, standards, and knowledge sharing.
Job Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
Experience Requirements
- A good number of years of experience in Telecom IT with a strong focus on BSS/OSS solution architecture.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale telecom systems and transformation programs.
Required Technical Skills
Telecom Domain Expertise
- Strong expertise in:
- BSS systems (CRM, Billing, Charging, Mediation, Product Catalog)
- SDP / IN platforms
- Telecom middleware and gateway platforms (APGW, FUSE, or similar)
Architecture & Integration
- Strong understanding of:
- Cloud-native architecture and microservices-based systems
- Telecom application architecture (CRM, API design, telecom protocols)
- Experience in:
- API design, integration patterns, and event-driven architectures
- Middleware, ESB, and gateway technologies
Backend & Technologies
- Experience with at least one programming language (Java preferred; minimum 2 years development experience)
- Experience working with DevOps tools and delivery pipelines
- Familiarity with Jira and Agile delivery tools
Database & Data
- Strong knowledge of SQL / PLSQL
- Experience with Oracle / MySQL databases
- Understanding of NoSQL or Big Data concepts
AI & Modern Tooling
- Exposure to Generative AI tools and automation (AI Ops / AI-assisted development)
- Ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity and solutioning capability
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile certifications
- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in telecom digital transformation or modernization programs
- Experience working with global telecom clients and multi-vendor environments
